Bromham Beauchamp Park
Our planning application
Following public consultation, we have submitted our planning application for Beauchamp Park. Our proposals have been put together to reflect feedback we received from local people, as well as the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Plan Group.
The proposals are for new homes, a new village green, natural play spaces, a multipurpose games area, sports pitches and changing rooms. The development will account for 390 of the 500 properties that are to be allocated to Bromham in the new Bedford Local Plan. The development is split into four different but complementary design character areas to reflect the different parts of the site.
We offer our thanks to everybody who took part in our consultation in May. The consultation gave us a chance to revisit our proposals and ensure we are, where possible, taking into account the views of local people. It presented an opportunity to answer questions from local people too. Our proposals reflect the existing village with a focus on two-storey properties and with no three-storey homes. We have stepped back the homes closest to the corner of Pear Tree Close. The consultation also enabled us to review our work on transport matters, including the roundabout access from the A422/A428 junction. A full explanation of all the comments we received during the consultation, alongside our responses, can be found in the Statement of Community Involvement submitted as part of our planning application.
Our proposals will be assessed by Bedford Borough Council planning officers, before being heard by the planning committee. Our planning application number is 19/01904/MAO. You can view the documents here on the Borough Council’s website.
